are spiders friends?

last year, i cut my hair
from hip length to ear length
but between my shoulder blades
i still felt a tingling

in mirrors, i caught a glimpse
of a large fluffy spider clinging
to my spine, its legs resting
on my ribs.

i stretched thin and laid it on thick
it didn’t budge
i tickled its bum and poked it with a stick
it didn’t budge

oh well! i thought
and slept on my tummy since.
