Why I Want To Punch Descartes

Jon Bradshaw

The logical fallacy in his rationalism ignores the our existence even when we are not aware of it. A punch would be a great way to get re-connected with your body.
The body can not be denied its superiority over the brain because it “keeps the score” (Van Der Kolk). The mind can only be at peace once the body is at peace.

How else could our entire body fight a disease the mind is unaware of?
How else could a familiar smell remind you of childhood summers, of the heartaches of a life you thought you forgot?

If not taught in the womb, the first act of faith must be to our bodies. We get healthy just like we fall in love, “slowly, and then all at once”. (John Green)
