Umbrella poem

that slap of icy wind lost on a beach
save your breath, he knows what i think

the rowdy crows nearby settling at dusk
shake your head, cross my arms, spread my dust

this sand sticks closer to me than you ever did
and these waves crash softer than words

the hair on my neck still points towards you
fishes swim towards the light even when it spits fire

i watched a cloud pass by today
and i thought maybe you came back
then it started raining
and i knew you did
